SEED OF HER SACRIFICE
About This Artwork
This piece was born from a memory I’ve carried since I was young of a mother in my neighborhood, moving through the day with quiet, unwavering strength. A child rested on her back like a promise, while a crown of fruits. bananas of provision, pineapple of endurance, red of sacrifice, purple of divine purpose and green of growth. balanced above her head. At the time, it felt ordinary… but something about her stayed with me. As I painted this, I realized I wasn’t just remembering her, I was finally understanding her. Every step she took was a prayer, every burden a seed planted into the life she carried. She moved with a faith that one day, all she was carrying would become something greater than her present. And somewhere beyond that moment I witnessed, the child became the proof, that her sacrifice was not in vain. Maybe you’ve seen her too in your street, your home or in the quiet strength of a woman who raised you. Maybe you are her. Because this is not just her story it is a reflection of many, a memory we share, and a truth we are still living.
